Exploring the healing journey for clients and clinicians

On Friday, May 13, 2016, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, CAMH Addiction Rounds will host a webinar titled, "Some kiss we want: An exploration of the healing journey for clients and clinicians."

This webinar will be available via webinar or in person at the Bell Gateway Building, 100 Stokes Street, 3rd floor, Room 3158.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore how our services are structured compared to how client perceives their healing journey
  • Review the desire for and increased holistic, team based, client centered approach to care
  • Discuss compassion and compassion fatigue in providing care

The presenter:

Kirstin Bindseil MSW, RSW

Kirstin currently works as an Advanced Practice Clinician at the Centre for Addiction and men-tal health. She offers supervision, education and leadership to staff in the Ambulatory Care and Structured treatment Program. Kirstin has worked as a clinician at CAMH for 17 years. She has worked in Mental Health and Addictions in both outpatient and inpatient services. Kirstin has focused on enhancing client goal planning for the last 10 years in Addictions and the Ambulatory care program, she is currently rolling out pilots of the ICARE team treatment plan across the program. Kirstin also has been a mindfulness instructor for 14 years and has taught hundreds of practitioners a way to care for others and themselves.

Addictions Rounds is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
