Video series offers helpful tools and information

On May 4, 2017, Ottawa Public Health with the support from Bell Let’s Talk launched the new www.haveTHATtalk.ca video series and activity guide. The new videos and activity guide can be found in the “For Everyone” section of the website.

These videos are evidence based and were developed with 15 local and national partners in the mental health field as well as those with lived experience. This video series offers helpful tools and information on 5 topic areas:

  1. How to Talk about Your Mental Health provides safe ways to talk about your own mental health or illness and how to support others sharing their challenges with you.
  2. Reducing Stigma provides information and ideas about how we can all help decrease the stigma around mental illness. 
  3. Building Resilience provides ways to build your resilience or help others build their resilience
  4. Caring for Yourself, the Caregiver emphasizes the importance of taking care of yourself so you can take care of the person living with mental illness. It provides ways to help you be the best caregiver you can be.
  5. Building Social Connections highlights the importance of connecting with people for your mental health and provides ideas to improve our connect or make new ones.

The activity guide provides tools and resources to help keep the conversation going and take action on mental health.
