HEIA Step One: An overview of the scoping stage

Join the Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA) Community of Interest for part one of its webinar series, "Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA) in Five Steps": "Step One, an overview of the scoping stage."

Date: January 23, 2020
Time: 12 - 12:30 PM

HEIA is a practical tool for identifying and improving the health equity impacts of your policy, program, or initiative. The Ontario government developed HEIA for more than just health organizations. If you create policies or deliver services that might have an impact on people’s health, HEIA is for you.

About this webinar

"Step 1, Scoping," involves first identifying subpopulations that might be negatively affected by a policy or initiative and, then, learning about the key determinants of health for these subpopulations.

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to describe the following:

  • What scoping is.
  • Why it’s done.
  • How to do it practically.
