One-day conference: Leading the integration of physical and mental health care

Event Overview

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the University Health Network invite health care providers to a conference on evidence-based practices for managing medical conditions for people with mental health problems.

The conference will cover:

  • the relationship between physical health conditions and mental illness, new paradigms for understanding the link, and understanding treatment implications
  • up-to-date evidence-based practices and recommendations on current screening, pharmacological and behavioural approaches and interventions for managing  mental health problems and medical conditions including cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease and cancer
  • the impact of  concurrent physical and mental health problems on the lives of patients and their family members and caregivers
