DTFP project for Nunavut



Project objective

To develop and prepare for the implementation of a culturally-informed addictions and substance abuse treatment service system for Nunavut.

Target population

All Nunavummiut living with addiction and substance abuse issues and their families.

Anticipated outcome


  • Collaboration and knowledge exchange within and among jurisdictions and stakeholders.
  • Access to staff training in addictions / substance abuse.
  • Establish capacity to measure addictions / substance abuse treatment system performances.


  • Integration of evidence-based and cultural-informed practices within the addictions / substance abuse treatment system.
  • Enhanced staff knowledge and skills in the delivery of addictions / substance abuse treatment services.


  • More efficient and effective substance abuse treatment systems.
