Helping men reintegrate into the community after release from the justice system

On May 30, 2016, the Provincial Human Services & Justice Coordinating Committee presented a webinar: "Helping Men Reintegrate into the Community After Being Released from the Justice System."

In this webinar you’ll learn about:

  • How the centre is meeting the reintegration needs of men released from the Toronto South Detention Centre;
  • The work of the centre’s service providers in housing, mental health and legal services and lessons learned;
  • The Needs Identification Tool, which helps ensure that each person can access appropriate services throughout Toronto via the utilization of “warm” referrals;
  • The centre’s Peer Support Program, which is helping individuals reintegrate back into the community.

Watch the webinar recording and read the slides.

The presenters:

Amber Kellen, Director of Community Initiatives, Policy and Research, The John Howard Society of Toronto
Lindsay Jennings, Reintegration Peer Worker/Youth Job Developer
