Webinar: An introduction to motivational interviewing for substance use

Motivational interviewing (MI) is type of counselling approach focused on helping clients reduce their ambivalence towards change. It is goal-oriented and collaborative between the client and provider and helps clients develop their own intrinsic motivation for behavior change. In this webinar, we will explore MI and discuss how it can be applied in a substance use setting. We will also discuss practical tips and tricks that health care providers can employ when using MI.
