Women with developmental disabilities face numerous health challenges

Women with developmental disabilities have poorer medical and psychiatric outcomes than women without developmental disabilities. Recently, researchers explored challenges faced by women with developmental disabilities within three main areas of women’s health.

In three projects under the umbrella of women’s health, the Health Care Access Research and Developmental Disabilities (H-CARDD) program examined the following questions, using administrative data held at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES). This H-CARDD Snapshot presents their findings.
